Human Trafficking 101

A presenter from “United Against Human Trafficking,” a local organization whose mission is “to end human trafficking through preventing exploitation, educating the community, and empowering survivors” will be joining us.

Human Trafficking 101 course covers all the basics about human trafficking — what it is, where it happens, and how, you as a community member, can help.

We will learn about the three components of human trafficking:

  • How victims are lured into trafficking situations,
  • How to recognize a human trafficking victim; and
  • How to report tips.

An additional topic to be discussed will be how we as a faith community can provide support to survivors.

This is a topic that will address how we can “do justice” by recognizing the signs of human trafficking and how to report them to authorities, and “do mercy” by reaching out to the survivors of  this form of modern–day slavery.

Plan to join us for our next Justice and Mercy program on Sunday, January 10, at 4:00 p.m.  Please register in advance by clicking on this link:  Zoom Meeting.   After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
