We are very pleased that immigration attorney Javier Rivera and Bishop Michael Rinehart of the the Gulf Coast Synod of the ELCA who has recently served on the board of the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services will speak to us about the recent changes in immigration law. They will help us understand the process for gaining permanent legal status, define the legal meaning of “refugee” and discuss DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). They will be recommending how we can help during these difficult times.
