Beginning on Sunday, Nov. 17, we will begin reading and discussing Lenny Duncan’s book, “Dear Church: A Love Letter from a Black Preacher to the Whitest Denomination in the U.S.” Lenny address several concerns regarding theological and structural issues that continue to keep the ELCA the whitest denomination in the United States. This promises to be a challenging and informative conversation. It is important to remember that any discomfort or challenge we may feel is less than the pain of oppression and exclusion people of color have felt in the Church.
