Salem Serving Day is an opportunity for every member of Salem (and friends of Salem) to be involved in some act of service during the morning of Saturday, Oct. 6.
Listed below are the items we are collecting for this year’s Salem Serving Day.
We will be collecting material and supplies for lap quilts. The quilts will be given to Houston Hospice and the fleece quilts will be given to Dan’s House of Hope. Dan’s House of Hope provides a home away from home environment for adolescents and young adults undergoing cancer treatment in Houston. Children’s book will be collected for Books Between Kids, whose focus is on low-income children in the Houston Independent School District. The children will receive six books at the end of school to encourage them to read during the summer and to create a home library. The rest of the items we are collecting will go to Braes Interfaith Ministries, our neighborhood social ministry coalition. Thank you baskets will be prepared for our area Constables and Firefighters.
