During the Summer, each week we will be collecting specific items needed for us to conduct our projects on Salem Serving Day. Please leave items in the designated boxes in the Fellowship Hall. Please be generous with your contributions.
June 7 and 14 – Quilting Project for Dan’s House of Hope
- Cotton fabric for backings for 10 quilts (2-1/2 yards of cotton fabric for ONE quilt backing)
- Batting for 10 quilts (cotton or polyester LOW LOFT batting for lap quilts — 50” x 60”)
- Scraps of cotton fabric at least 5” square
June 21 – School Supplies for Refugee Children
(Refugee Services of Texas)
- Backpacks for school children, no wheels
- Packs of 12 No. 2 pencils
- Scissors (child, food quality like Fiskars)
June 28 – School Supplies for Refugee Children
- Package of 24 count Crayons
- Glue sticks (pack of 3)
- Boxes of sandwich Ziplock bags
- Boxes of gallon size Ziplock bags
- Packages of antibacterial hand wipes
- Bottles of Elmer’s glue
July 5 – School Supplies for Refugee Children
- Packs of wide rule notebook paper
- Folders with brads and pockets (various colors)
- Small bottles of liquid hand soap and hand sanitizers
- Pink erasers
- Gift cards for $10 or $15 dollars to Walmart to finish out school supplies.
July 12 – Books Between Kidz
- New or gently used children’s books pre-K to 5th grade
July 19 – Gift Baskets for Dan’s House of Hope
- Nail polish any shade, regular size
- Fingernail clippers
- Chapstick or other lip balm
- Kleenex — small packages
July 26 – Gift Baskets for Dan’s House of Hope
- Sunscreen travel size
- Shampoo and conditioner — travel size
Aug. 2 – Gift Baskets for Dan’s House of Hope
- Houston T-shirts (medium or large)
Aug. 9, 16, 23 and 30; Sept. 6
