Salem Serving Day – Sept. 11

ELCA-GodsWork_OurHands_2

Salem Serving Day is a day that is set aside for every person in the congregation to participate in some form of service activity in and around the community.  Salem Serving Day is for Sunday, Sept. 11, and will include different projects to benefit organizations and people in and around our community.

Under the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) motto – “God’s work.  Our  hands.” – thousands of ELCA members across the country will be involved in service projects across the country.

We will all worship together at 10:30 a.m. and then head out to serve in different projects.

Every participant in our congregation’s ministry is urged to choose a project and participate in some form of service activity in and around the community.  You can sign up for Salem projects at the bulletin board by the Music Room.

After worship everyone meets briefly in the Parish Hall to go over last-minute details and pick up lunches and drinks.

There will be no educational hour on Sept. 11.  All ages are invited to participate in the worship and service.
